Vote for the other guy

Have you noticed that everything being addressed in Washing DC is a crisis?  We hav e an economic crisis, energy crisis, global warming crisis, food crisis, child care crisis, mortgage crisis, banking crisis, executive pay crisis and an healthcare crisis.  How can we possibly survive all these crisis?  Well, the democrats have a one size fits all solution.  Larger government!  We all know how efficient the government is and how little waste there is so we should just trust Obama and the Dems to solve all the crisis.  And by the way, don't depend on the Republicans.  They are no better in the long run   And if there is no crisis, well they will create one with the help of there buddies is the press and media.

Enough is enough.  It's time to take the country back from these professional politicians.  The make laws and regulations they don't live by and they don't listen ti us anymore.  I have a novel plan to get our country back.  It's called "Vote for the other guy".  Next time you go to the polls on election day vote for whoever is not an incumbent.  Let's turn the place upside down and get some fresh faces in there.  If 25% of the incumbents lose the next election, I guarantee the remaining pols will listen to their constuitents.

Let's get a national campaing going.  Vote for the other guy should be our new motto.

It's Time For Tea

Tea parties are no longer reserved for the history books, it's 2009 and some 236 years later we find ourselves in the same predicament as our founders. Instead of taxation (although I would argue we are at a point where we are way over taxed, but I digress), these tea parties represent uproar against a government that who has done the unthinkable.  The hypocrisy is astounding. The government shunned those Americans who carelessly loaded up on debt, spent what they didn't have and foolishly signed up for mortgages they knew they couldn't pay. Fast forward to today—isn't our government committing the very same acts that they criticized others for? Aren't they making promises they know they can't keep?  They are taking more of our money, and giving less of it back to programs that will benefit those who contribute. They are greatly increasing our national debt to unhealthy and unsustainable levels to the point that we Americans have had enough.  These tea parties have the right backing and the right incentive, just as our predecessors did.   Our statements ring true to millions of Americans and tomorrow, on April 15th we hope the Ants will stand up and fight.   We ants are tired of carrying the grasshoppers on our backs and we refuse to allow the government to forgo our children's future to continue to bailout the grasshoppers that got us into this irresponsible mess in the first place.

Show your support on April 15th. Join your local tea party. Visit www.nobailoutsforgrasshoppers.com to join the ants vs. grasshoppers movement 2009.

The REAL tax burden....

So you thought you were safe from a tax hike under the $250K threshold? I hate to be the bearer of bad news to all you ants out there, but you are not safe. An article in the Wall St. Journal surfaced today recounting Obama's lofty budget and did the accounting, and folks, there is no way we ants under that threshold are going to get away without a major increase in our taxes.   Here at nobailoutsforgrasshoppers.com we question what exactly are we paying for, what are the details, who are we supporting for this extra $35K tax burden a year? We are tired of working hard and then seeing our hard-earned dollars squandered by the government.   We certainly cannot sit by and allow this to happen, this is outrageous. This administration won't be happy until the ants are left with nothing and the grasshoppers are out and about consuming our dollars.

We believe in charity, we believe in helping those in need. However, we do not believe in forced charity imposed on us by the government, nor do we believe that now is the time for exalted policies on health care and energy. We need to fix this country and the government needs to recognize that punishing what the American dream stands for—hard work, prosperity and success are the very things they are chastising by hiking up our tax rates.

What we want to know…is what do YOU think?

No Bailouts for Grasshoppers

Hello bloggers.

This is new to me so please bear with me.  I am so angry with the Obama administration and its continued bailouts to irresponsible people and businesses that I thought I was going to scream.

I was looking for a way to express my anger in a positive way and also to identify with others who feel the same.  After much thought I settled on a decal that could be displayed so that like minded people, fed up with the bailouts, could identify themselves and reassure each other that we are not alone.

My daughter and I designed a web site www.nobailoutsforgrasshoppers.com.  I invite you to visit the web site and if you want you can buy a decal so others will know you oppose these continued bailouts.

Here is the story of the grasshopper and the ant in case you forgot

The Ants vs. Grasshoppers Movement 2009

Tired of watching the government bailout grasshoppers with YOUR money? WE ARE TOO!

Do you remember the Aesop fable about the ant and the grasshopper? The ant worked hard all summer to store food for the winter while the grasshopper played and sang in the sun and wasted his time. Come winter, the ant was warm and fed in her nest while the grasshopper was cold and starving above. The grasshopper begged the ant to take him in but the ant refused for she had her own family to think about.

This story teaches a valuable lesson and the ending has been modified and made an allegory for modern times but simply put, those that spent every dollar they had and bought expensive cars, houses and everything else on credit have reached the winter of their lives. They are now begging us ants (those of us who saved, put off expensive purchases for another day and planned for our retirement) for help and they have voted in a government that will steal it from us with higher taxes.

Most of us are charitable people and will freely give what we can to help these grasshoppers but the government doesn’t trust us. They will mortgage our children’s future to bail out these grasshoppers. Well we don’t know about you, but we've had enough! We've written to our congressman and senators with no avail so we're beginning to think no one is listening.

We designed this decal for those of us who agree that the government is doing the wrong thing and we, the ants, are mad as hell. Our hope is that you will display this symbol on your car, at your business, on your front door or anywhere else to show other likeminded ants that we are not alone. Maybe if our representatives and senators see enough decals they will re-consider their wasteful policies. Even if they don’t, at least we will have the satisfaction of making our statement! Someone once said that a good idea is impossible to stop once it gets going.

If you would like your decal see our products page on how to order. We are selling them at modest cost because like a good ant, we're also capitalists. Join the revolution show you care about the direction our country is heading.

Thanks,

John and Marilyn (two ants trying to make a difference)
